Upon diagnosis, Morgan began studying voice with Burt Wood owner Lorna Brunelle. The weekly lessons help to keep her diaphragm and lungs strong. The Burt Wood monthly newsletter mentioned various fundraisers planned to assist the Lawler family. In search of a way to help, Molly approached the Raynham Middle School Student Council and advisor Miss Karen McAuley. After a series of announcements over the loud speaker, the fundraising efforts were underway. Their goal was $800.00. In one week, they raised over $500.00. The following Thursday, the student council sponsored a Hat Day to add to the total. Many days Molly Caron, accompanied by fellow student council member Nikki Perry, stayed after school to count the money. The total amount raised was $826.00. On behalf of the Raynham Middle School Student Council, Molly presented Morgan with a check on December 11, 2008. The meeting of goodwill and compassion took place at The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts in Middleboro. The girls shared their love of music, sang a few Hannah Montana songs, and posed for a few photos. The Lawler family is extremely grateful for Molly Caron and her family, the students of the Raynham Middle School Student Council, Miss Karen McAuley, and Principal Dave Thomson for coming together to help Morgan. Molly’s mother Laura Caron was quoted saying that, “As great as it was for Molly to want to help Morgan and her family, I think Molly’s life lesson was equally as great in value. I’m so proud of the entire student council and student body for stepping up to help that little girl.” Morgan lives in East Bridgewater with her father Willie, mother Christine, brother Mathew and sister Marisa.
