Heidi Fiore from Taunton, receives the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts Scholarship

Taunton resident Heidi Fiore is the 2010 recipient of The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts Scholarship. Each year, the faculty at The Burt Wood School selects a deserving senior to award their scholarship. Miss Fiore will receive the $1000.00 award after successfully completing her first semester of college. To date, The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts has awarded over $16,000.00 of scholarship assistant to their students.

The daughter of Jordan and Charlene Fiore of Taunton, Heidi began performing at the age of 3. At the age of 5 she made her theatrical debut as a poppy and a munchkin in the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts summer production of “The Wizard of Oz.” In September 1997, she began 12 years of voice, piano and acting classes and performed in numerous productions at the Burt Wood School.

In addition to performances at The Burt Wood School, Heidi has performed in Friedman Middle School and Taunton High Productions. She has also performed with the Star Players of Bristol County and has been a soloist at the Memorial United Methodist Church.
During her years at Taunton High School she was a member of the Select Chorus, the National Honor Society, Latin Club and Student Council.

She will be attending Gordon College in Wenham, MA pursuing a major in English/Creative Writing. In addition, Heidi hopes to continue with performances in music and theater productions. For more information on The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts, visit burtwoodschool.com.
